These Australian grown certified organic Pecans have been ‘activated’, to release the nuts’ naturally occurring enzyme inhibitors and assist in the bio-availability of nutrients. They are soaked in organic green tea kombucha and filtered water for 24 hours before the nuts are slowly dehydrated for 24 -28 hours below 60o C. Activated pecans have an amazing crisp crunchy texture with a sweet, toasty nut flavour and aroma. They are a scrumptious natural snack and a wonderful ingredient in raw foods, baking, sweet or savoury recipes.
How to Use:
Kombucha activated organic Pecans are a delectable snack on their own or in a trail mix – combined with dried fruit and seeds – perfect for road trips. Add chopped pecans to muesli, porridge, natural yoghurt, smoothies or acai bowls. These activated pecans can also be ground to a flour or ‘meal’, perfect for baking and adding to raw food. Ground pecans are also great in pesto, dips and as a base for sauces; use it to replace peanuts in satay sauce. Toss roughly chopped pecans over salads or hotpots. Stir through pasta dishes. Activated pecans are a delicious addition to raw energy balls or baked bread, muffins, cakes, biscuits and desserts – so good in chewy gooey brownies. A tasty and convenient natural addition to the pantry.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.
