Acai Berries are from a native plant in South America that have been harvested and utilised as a major source of food by indigenous people for centuries. They are the small dark purple berry of the acai palm. This raw, freeze-dried powder is wild-harvested from the Amazon forest, where it grows sustainably in its natural environment.
Certified Organic and Fair Trade acai powder retains the rich purple colour of the berry, with a fruity aroma. It tastes scrumptious, much like other dark berries but with a hint of cacao flavour. Add this convenient superfood to breakfast or delicious raw food creations.
How to Use:
This raw acai powder is simple and convenient to use, simply sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons over any breakfast cereal for a taste sensation. Add it to coconut water and smoothies, or serve with yoghurt and fruit salad.
To create a stunning Acai bowl for a natural breakfast or snack blend acai powder and a little nut mylk, with 1/3 cup of rolled oats or quinoa and your selection of banana, mango, frozen berries, kale or spinach. Blend to a consistency similar to frozen yoghurt, adding a little more mylk if needed. Serve in a bowl, sprinkle with bee pollen and top with fresh fruit, nuts or seeds, and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Acai powder is also a yummy addition to raw treats including energy balls, chia pudding, slices, ice cream and vegan chocolate.
